Yogi Berra, the NY Yankees’ Hall of Fame catcher, once said,”It’s deja-vu all over again.” The following discussion can best be characterized by a slight paraphrase of Yogi’s recollection, “It’s deja-Nvidia all over again.”

Here's the longer more specific subtitle of this note:
"How personal AI data centers in our homes and offices running open source small language models could use iCloud routers for authenticated remote connections."

GenAI Diary (page) … Keep up! It’s no longer about asking (prompt engineered) questions to get answers. Its about conversations!!!

Last update: Sunday 5/25/25
Whisper, ChatGPT's super effective open source transcription app, correctly captures more than 95% of what the editor of this blog says, even when he's talking at high speed. Recently, he asked ChatGPT how he could use Whisper with another chatbot.  He was repulsed by the multi step-by-step method that ChatGPT recommended, so he digressed to explain that its cumbersome procedure would interrupt the flow of their conversation.

Indeed, the editor has engaged ChatGPT in intensive conversations that involve eight or more prompts and responses that extend over a 24 hour period ever since OpenAI made a vague announcement that it had "improved" ChatGPT's capacity to engage in conversation. This note contains two excerpts from an extended conversation whose surprising turns illustrate this improvement #SLM #LLM #OpenSource #agents"  ... (GenAI Diary home page)

Last update: Friday 5/16/25
The Generative AI revolution has upended Internet search, replacing it with a new paradigm. This note discusses the failure of Apple's current leadership to perceive the real potential winners and losers in this upheaval, a misperception that reflects its broader failure to perceive the historic implications of the generative AI revolution. Note: The essential points of this discussion were dramatized in one of our recent podcasts

GenAI Diary (page) ... Savvy computer users moving from chatbots to agents to writing their own agents using natural language

Last update: Sunday 5/11/25
The editor of this blog recently read a fascinating article in VentureBeat, then watched VentureBeat’s YouTube podcast.
